Delhi / Fine imposed on 3.66 lakh passengers in metro in six months, Rs 7.32 crore recovered

In the last six months, about 3.66 lakh passengers were fined for violating Corona rules in Delhi Metro. These include cases of non-compliance with masks or social distance. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) collected a fine of Rs 7.32 crore for violating the Kovid protocol. Even after removing the restrictions, passengers are being advised to wear masks, sanitization. Passengers are also constantly being made aware on social media so that infection can be prevented.

During the restrictions implemented during the Corona period, the maximum number of cases of violation of rules in Delhi Metro came in February. On an average, more than 550 cases were reported daily during this period. Violation cases also increased after the exemption in traveling in the metro from December 29. From February 28, exemption was given in following the corona protocol in the metro. Under this, passengers were allowed to travel standing in the metro with 100 percent capacity.

In January, there were 391 cases of violation of rules daily, while in March this figure was 369. Now the restrictions have been completely lifted, but passengers are being advised to follow the rules during the journey so that there is no risk of any kind of infection. Those who violated the rules were fined Rs 200 in Delhi Metro.

Passengers were also made aware

Along with taking action in cases of ignoring the rules, the Delhi Metro has also been made aware by advising the frequent commuters during this period. On an average, 400 to 750 passengers were made aware daily by DMRC personnel so that the rules were not ignored. Despite this, DMRC fined those who did not follow the rules.
