Regarding this meeting, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav said, 'The date has been fixed. Some leaders were unable to come on June 12, due to which the meeting could not be held. Everyone was of the opinion that this meeting should be called on the same day when the leaders of all the parties are present. The meeting will be held in Patna. All the leaders have given their consent.

He said, 'In the Grand Alliance government that has been formed, all the leaders including Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD leader Lalu Yadav had the intention that more and more opposition leaders should attend this meeting. Along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, I myself went to many leaders' places and talked. We feel that everyone is coming on one platform, so what is the situation in the country, democracy is being attacked, the constitution is being tampered with. The issue is not being talked about. Unilateral dictatorial attitude is being adopted, in view of this this meeting is going to be held in Patna. We feel that positive results will be seen from this meeting, something better will come out.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been carrying the torch of opposition unity for a long time. In this regard, he went around meeting the opposition leaders and succeeded in persuading them to agree to this meeting. He went and met all the opposition leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Mamta Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, Sharad Pawar, Stalin and prepared to gather on a single platform.

With the efforts of Nitish Kumar, the opposition parties will show their strength in Patna on 23rd June. This will be the first of its kind opportunity to show the strength of the opposition parties. Nitish Kumar is talking about defeating BJP on 100 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Mamta Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav have said that the party which is strong in the state, that party should be given the command of the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, it can be easy to defeat BJP in that state. However, all eyes will be on the meeting to be held on June 23. It will also be a matter to be seen whether the opposition is able to fix a formula for itself in this meeting or not.
