The famous Tarna hill of Mandi city has now reached the verge of collapse. Big cracks are visible in this hill. Big potholes are visible in the roads. According to the local people, the houses built nearby can collapse at any time.

30 teams on the ground

Along with Himachal, this devastation of nature has also come in Uttarakhand and its effect is till Punjab. In these states, 30 teams of NDRF are engaged in rescue operations on the ground. Due to the heavy rains in Mandi district between 13 and 15 August, there has been a lot of devastation. The houses of 267 people here have been completely destroyed. There has been a loss of more than Rs 31 crore.

According to Mandi's ADC Nivedita Negi, in view of the situation, the Chief Engineer of Jal Shakti Department has got the office completely evacuated and the people living downstream have also been ordered to vacate their houses. Due to the disaster in Himachal, movement has come to a standstill in many areas, while many areas are submerged, where Air Force personnel are engaged in the rescue of people. Airforce rescued more than 220 people from Kangra district yesterday.

1,000 people were evacuated
