Rajasthan Election / I never opposed a winnable candidate - Sachin Pilot on Gehlot's statement

Rajasthan Elections: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has said that he has never opposed any winnable candidate and even those who were accused of indiscipline during the episode in September last year. Actually, Pilot has given this answer after the statement of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, in which Gehlot said in Delhi that he has not opposed giving tickets to Sachin Pilot's supporters for the state assembly elections. To this, Pilot said that he wholeheartedly welcomes proposals from all eligible candidates, even those who were involved in indiscipline last year.

"Welcome even to those who committed indiscipline"

Referring to last year's incident, Sachin Pilot told reporters in Dausa that he had welcomed with an open heart the proposals from all those who were winnable, even those who had not listened to Sonia Gandhi. The Congress leader was in Dausa on Friday to review the preparations for party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's public meeting. Pilot said that all the leaders have tried to take collective decisions in the interest of the party and soon it will become clear who will contest from which seat. He referred to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's statement that there is "love" among party leaders in Congress.

If Congress wins, who will become the Chief Minister?

When Sachin Pilot was asked whether he had forgotten the words that Chief Minister Gehlot had used when he rebelled against the Gehlot government in 2020, Pilot said, "Aap Suna Aaj Nahi Kya Chief Minister Ne Bola" ? The love and affection that we have within us has become an example and seeing this love the opponents are very scared.'' When he was asked who would become the Chief Minister if the Congress forms the government in the elections, he said that it will be up to the elected candidates to decide the name. And then the party high command takes the decision to appoint the Chief Minister. He also expressed confidence that the Congress party will again form the government in the state.

Last year the leaders had gone against the Congress high command

It is noteworthy that after the MLAs of Ashok Gehlot camp did not attend the meeting of the Congress Legislature Party called at the Chief Minister's residence in September last year, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal, then Chief Whip Mahesh Joshi and Chairman of Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) Dharmendra Rathod was given notice by the party for indiscipline. Pro-Gehlot MLAs had in September last year held a parallel meeting at the residence of minister Shanti Dhariwal in Jaipur to oppose any move by the party to appoint Sachin Pilot as the new chief minister. At that time Ashok Gehlot was in the race for the post of National President of Congress.
