Rahul Gandhi Defamation Case: The Gujarat High Court is going to pronounce its verdict today in the defamation case against senior Congress leader and former President Rahul Gandhi. During this, everyone's eyes are fixed on the decision of the High Court, because Rahul has not got relief in this case from the two lower courts. In fact, Rahul was sentenced to 2 years in the magistrate's court in Surat for defamation. After which his parliamentary membership was also abolished.

Gujarat MLA Purunesh Modi had imposed a defamation case on Rahul Gandhi. He had alleged that Rahul Gandhi had given a wrong statement regarding the Modi surname during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka. Because of this, it is an insult to all Modi surname people. While hearing in this case, the Magistrate Court sentenced Rahul Gandhi to 2 years imprisonment. After this, Rahul Gandhi appealed in the Additional Sessions Court.

2 lower courts sentenced

However, Rahul Gandhi did not get any relief even from the Additional Court. The Additional Sessions Court had also upheld the sentence of Rahul Gandhi. After this, Rahul Gandhi had moved the Gujarat High Court. In this case, the court has asked to pronounce the verdict on July 7.

In fact, during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi was addressing a public meeting in Karnataka. During this, he targeted the people who fled abroad after doing big scams in India and PM Narendra Modi. Rahul Gandhi had said that 'after all, how is the surname of all thieves Modi?' This whole ruckus happened on this statement.

MP went on punishment

When Rahul Gandhi was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by the lower court, the secretariat had terminated his parliament by sending a notice to him. This was fiercely opposed by the Congress and other opposition parties. He told the hand of BJP in this whole matter. Not only this, after ending the membership of Rahul Gandhi, he was also asked to vacate the government bungalow, after which he had to vacate the government bungalow in due time.
