The history of Rajasthan's desert land bears witness to the bravery of kings and emperors, grand princely states, and royal pomp and show. To bring this rich culture and heritage more strongly to the world stage, the Tourism and Archaeology Department has given a big gift to tourists. On the occasion of International Museum Day on May 18, free entry will be given to domestic and foreign tourists in all government museums and protected monuments of Rajasthan. This initiative aims to showcase the state's magnificent history and architectural marvels to a global audience without any entry barriers.
Royal Welcome with Tilak and Garlands
According to the orders issued by the Director of the Archaeology Department, Dr. Pankaj Dharendra, a huge crowd of tourists is expected to gather at monuments and museums on this special occasion, in view of which special preparations have been made. Tourists coming to the land of Marudhara will be warmly greeted with tilak and garlands according to traditional Rajasthani customs. To introduce tourists to the folk culture of Rajasthan, various cultural and colorful programs will also be organized at different monuments, ensuring that the visit becomes a memorable experience while promoting the state's tourism sector.
Free Entry in These Major Monuments and Museums
Under this order, the doors of all major historical sites of the state will remain completely free for tourists. These mainly include the iconic Albert Hall, the world-famous Hawa Mahal, and the astronomical wonder Jantar Mantar. Other significant sites include the Akbari Fort of Ajmer, the Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum of Bikaner, and the Ahar Museum in Udaipur. New Boost to Tourism
Every year, millions of foreign and domestic tourists from every corner of the country come to see the sand dunes and historical forts of Rajasthan. The department believes that such events not only give tourists a chance to see the heritage of Rajasthan closely and know its untold stories but also create a very positive image of Rajasthan Tourism at the global level, while by offering free access and a royal reception, the state aims to strengthen its position as a premier cultural destination.
