Sikar EV Showroom Fire: 40 Vehicles Destroyed, 3.5 Crore Loss Reported

A devastating fire broke out in two electric vehicle showrooms located opposite the Circuit House on Jaipur Road in Sikar city, Rajasthan. The intensity of the blaze was so high that within a short span of time, both showrooms were completely engulfed in flames. According to reports, approximately 40 electric vehicles, including electric scooties, bikes, autos, and e-rickshaws, were reduced to ashes. The flames rose so high that they caused panic and chaos in the surrounding areas.

Incident Details and Emergency Response

Gokulpura Police Station Officer Rajaram provided details regarding the incident, stating that the fire occurred around 4 AM on Saturday morning. The fire initially started at BS Automobile, located in front of the Circuit House on Jaipur Road, while before anyone could react, the fire took a massive form and spread to the adjacent Bachchan Motors showroom. Both showrooms were completely gutted in the incident, while upon receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot and immediately ordered the suspension of electricity supply in the entire area to prevent further hazards.

Firefighting Operations

The fire department was alerted immediately after the police arrived. Given the severity of the situation, 5 fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to commence firefighting operations. 5 hours of strenuous effort to bring the blaze under control. During this period, the police blocked traffic on one side of the road to ensure that the fire tenders could operate without any hindrance. The timely intervention of the fire department prevented the fire from spreading further to other nearby shops and establishments.

Damage to Nearby Property

Station Officer Rajaram further mentioned that the flames also reached a nearby Hyundai auto parts showroom, while significant damage was reported there as well, with spare parts, air conditioners, and other equipment worth lakhs of rupees being destroyed by the fire. While the firefighters managed to stop the fire from consuming the entire parts showroom, the heat and smoke caused substantial loss to the inventory stored inside.

Financial Loss and Investigation

SHO Rajaram Legha explained that BS Automobile primarily housed electric scooties and bikes, while Bachchan Motors was used for storing electric autos and e-rickshaws. Preliminary reports suggest that around 40 electric vehicles were present in the showrooms at the time of the incident. 5 crore rupees. While the police suspect a short circuit to be the primary cause of the fire, a detailed investigation is underway to determine the exact reason and to conduct a final assessment of the total damages incurred.
