Gujarat Assembly Election 2022 / Voting under way for 89 seats in first phase of Gujarat assembly elections

Gujarat Assembly Election 2022 : In the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections, polling has begun on 89 seats in the state today. There are 788 candidates in the fray for these seats falling in 19 districts of the state. In the first phase, more than two crore voters will use their vote. Out of total 89 seats in the first phase, BJP has maximum 58, Congress has 26 and BTP has 2, NCP has one seat.


Voting for the first phase in Gujarat began at 8 am. The seats that will be under special focus today are Jamnagar, Morbi, Kutch, Rajkot, Porbandar and Junagadh.


  • Congress and BJP workers clashed at Vasanda in Navsari district. Vasanda's BJP candidate Piyush Patel got injured in this. Let us tell you that Vasanda is a stronghold of the Congress. Anant Patel is in the fray from Congress.
  • BJP candidate from Jamnagar North seat, Rivaba Jadeja voted in Rajkot. He appealed to all the voters to vote.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday appealed voters to vote in large numbers.
  • People will vote for the first time in Jambur village, which is known as Mini Africa of Gujarat. A special tribal booth has been made here for them.
  • More than 182 polling stations are being manned by PWD staff. All women employees will be present at 1,274 booths.
