Lok Sabha Election: Nitish Kumar has refused to become the convenor of India Alliance. According to sources, after Nitish's refusal for the post of coordinator, some parties proposed Lalu's name, on which Nitish Kumar said that if it is so, then make Lalu ji only. Nitish said that Lalu Yadav ji is the most senior, so why should he not be made the coordinator of the alliance. According to sources, Nitish Kumar said that Congress is the largest party, hence the Congress leader should be made the chairman of the alliance. I don't want to be a coordinator. I will work for the unity of the opposition even without an alliance.

JDU state president's big talk

At the same time, JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha said, who should be made the convener, it can be the media's agenda but our leaders are the architects of opposition unity. The whole country is looking at our leader as the leader of the opposition. The whole country is looking towards Nitish Kumar with hope and confidence. Our leader's agenda is not to become a coordinator. We have only one agenda – remove BJP – save the country. India alliance has now taken a big shape, due to which BJP is feeling uneasy. He has lost sleep. The public will teach a lesson to the BJP people.

Mallikarjun Kharge's name decided for president

Before the Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties have finalized the name of Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of President of India Alliance. A proposal to make the Congress leader the convenor was brought by the alliance in the virtual meeting held on Saturday (January 13). Leaders of 14 parties including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury, Tamil Nadu CM and DMK Chief Stalin attended the meeting. Even before the meeting, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had refused to become the convener of the India Alliance.

After Nitish Kumar's refusal, JDU leader in Delhi Sanjay Kumar Jha said, "The Chief Minister (Nitish Kumar) wanted the coordinator of the alliance to be from the Congress."

It is noteworthy that in the last meeting of the India Alliance, Mamata Banerjee had proposed the name of Mallikarjun Kharge for the post of Prime Minister, on which Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal had also agreed. However, then Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge had rejected this proposal. The proposal was rejected. He had said that first he will win the elections and then decide the PM candidate.
