Uniform Civil Code: Before the Gujarat assembly elections, the Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat has taken a big decision. Committee will be constituted for Uniform Civil Code in Gujarat. This committee will be formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the High Court. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi announced this.

Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi said, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has taken a historic decision in the cabinet meeting today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country's Home Minister Amit Shah. In the meeting, it has been decided to constitute a committee for Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

રાજ્યમાં સમાન સીવીલ કોડ (Uniform Civil Code)ની આવશ્યકતા ચકાસવા તથા આ કોડ માટેનો મુસદ્દો તૈયાર કરવા સુપ્રિમ કોર્ટ/હાઇકોર્ટના નિવૃત્ત ન્યાયાધીશશ્રીની અધ્યક્ષતામાં ઉચ્ચકક્ષાની સમિતિની રચના કરવાનો મહત્વપૂર્ણ નિર્ણય આજે રાજ્ય મંત્રીમંડળની બેઠકમાં લેવામાં આવ્યો છે.

Giving information about the cabinet decision, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel tweeted, "Required a retired Supreme Court/High Court judge to examine the need for Uniform Civil Code in Gujarat and prepare a draft for the same. An important decision was taken today in the meeting of the state cabinet to form a high level committee under the chairmanship.
