Shashi Tharoor on Lok Sabha Election 2024: Senior Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor said on Friday that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it is almost impossible for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to achieve a one-sided victory like in 2019. It would be impossible. Tharoor, an MP from Kerala, reiterated his point and said that it is quite possible that the Bharatiya Janata Party may not get a majority in the general elections to be held in the country in 2024.

BJP can lose so many seats as compared to 2019

Highly educated MP Tharoor has also claimed in the midst of his address that the ruling party BJP may lose about '50 seats' in the next Lok Sabha elections this time as compared to the previous results.

Kerala Lit Fest celebrated

Tharoor, MP from Thiruvananthapuram, was speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival here. He said, 'If you see how well they (BJP) performed in 2019, they had almost all the seats in Haryana, Gujarat and Rajasthan. There were 18 seats in Bengal.

'It is not easy to repeat the same result now'

Addressing a session at the festival, he said, “When the BJP can lose power in many states, it is not an impossible thing to lose power at the Centre. So now it is impossible to repeat the same results and it is very possible that BJP could not get majority in the year 2024.

Tharoor lives in headlines

The Congress leader has further said that after the Pulwama attacks and Balakot attack, the BJP got a tremendous last minute advantage in the 2019 elections which will not be repeated in 2024 and the opposition will also gain a lot this time.

When Tharoor was asked whether the opposition parties, which would not allow the BJP to get a majority, would be able to remain united on their own. On this question, the Congress leader gave a round answer and said that it is impossible to answer it.
