Bihar Politics: The political turmoil in Bihar is not ending and there is constant heat there. The newly formed National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Nitish Kumar will face the floor test on the first day of the budget session on February 12. Although there are still 8 days left for the floor test, efforts to save their respective MLAs have intensified. Congress has sent 16 of its MLAs to Hyderabad. Now news is coming that 9 MLAs of Nitish's party Janata Dal United (JDU) are in touch with RJD and Congress.

After separating from the Grand Alliance, Nitish Kumar took oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the ninth time on the same day on January 28. Nitish separated from the Grand Alliance and INDIA, the alliance of opposition parties, and formed a new government again with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). After the formation of the new government, Nitish government was first going to win the trust vote on 10th February. But now it will prove its majority on February 12.

Nitish is killing time: Congress sources

Meanwhile, Congress sources say that 9 MLAs of Janata Dal United (JDU) are in constant touch with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. That is why even after forming a new government in Jharkhand after Nitish, we are proving majority on 5th February (Monday) whereas Nitish is going to do it on 12th February. Sources said that he is taking more time to prove his majority because he is killing time. Their 9 MLAs are in touch with us. There is a possibility of a split in JDU.

On the other hand, it is certain that there will be a fierce battle in the floor test to be held on February 12 in Patna. That is why Congress sent its MLAs to Hyderabad on Sunday to keep them away from any kind of horse-trading. However, out of 19 MLAs in the State Assembly, 16 MLAs have reached Hyderabad. It is being told that the rest of the MLAs will also reach there soon.

Congress sent its MLAs to Hyderabad

Last week, in a major upheaval in the politics of Bihar, the matter of horse-trading of some MLAs of the Congress, an important constituent of the Grand Alliance which had gone away from power, came to light. Congress has 19 MLAs in Bihar Assembly, out of which 16 attended the meeting with party president Mallikarjun Kharge. Along with the party's State Congress President Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Legislative Council members Prem Chandra Mishra and Madan Mohan Jha also participated in this meeting.

After the Congress MLAs reached Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, Bihar State Congress President Akhilesh Singh said that they have come to congratulate Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. We will meet the Chief Minister and congratulate him. Reddy took over as the Chief Minister after the Congress' bumper victory in the Telangana Assembly elections held in December last year. Sources say that these MLAs are likely to remain in Hyderabad till February 11.

On the other hand, the election of the new Assembly Speaker in Bihar is also likely to be held on February 12. A new Assembly Speaker will be elected in place of Awadh Bihari Chaudhary of Rashtriya Janata Dal. This budget session is likely to be stormy as the NDA has moved a no-confidence motion against the (RJD) Assembly Speaker, who has not yet resigned even after the change in government. As per the previously decided schedule, the budget was to be presented on February 12, but now it will be presented a day later.
