PM Modi Speech: In the international conference started in Delhi regarding 'No Money for Terror' funding, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's challenge must have shaken the ears of China and Pakistan. After inaugurating the conference on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India has fought terrorism bravely and will not rest until it is rooted out.

The Prime Minister was speaking at a ministerial conference on counter-terrorist financing on the theme 'No Money for Terror' at Hotel Taj Palace in the capital. He said that for decades terrorism in various names and forms tried to hurt India and because of this the country lost thousands of precious lives, but in spite of this the country has fought terrorism bravely. Underlining the importance of hosting the conference in India, the Prime Minister said that India had long taken the initiative to take the menace of terrorism seriously. "We will not rest till terrorism is uprooted," he said.

Terrorism also hurts the local economy and the poor

PM Modi said that the long-term nature of terrorism especially hurts the poor or the local economy, be it tourism or trade. He said that no one likes to go to the area which is in danger and because of this livelihood of the people is lost. "It is more important that we strike at the root of terrorism financing," he said. The two-day conference has been organized to deliberate on the effectiveness of the existing international regime on counter-terrorist financing as well as the steps needed to address the emerging challenges.

450 delegates from 72 countries are participating in the conference

Around 450 delegates from all over the world are participating in this international conference. These include ministers, heads of multilateral organizations and heads of Financial Action Task Force (FATF) delegations. During the conference, four sessions were held on 'Global Trends in Terrorism and Terrorist Financing', 'Utilization of Formal and Informal Channels of Funding for Terrorism', 'Emerging Technologies and Terrorist Financing' and 'Addressing Challenges in Combating Terrorist Financing'. The topics of 'international co-operation' will be discussed.

We can't wait for terrorism to reach home

PM Modi said that there is still a misconception in some circles about terrorism. Every terrorism incident should be condemned and action should be taken against it. This is an attack on civilization and humanity, it has no boundaries. India had seen the dark side of terrorism long before the world. We cannot wait for terrorism to reach our homes. We need to break terrorism, their support and economic links.

Simple target without naming Pakistan and China

During this, Prime Minister Modi targeted Pakistan and China without naming them. The Prime Minister said that many countries support terrorism politically, economically and ideologically. Those who show mercy or sympathy towards terrorism also need to be shown a mirror. One source of terrorism is organized crime, whose members have links with terrorist organizations that finance arms and drug trafficking in terrorist activities. We have to end the support system of terrorists by stopping their funding. Some countries support terrorism by giving financial and ideological help. The international community should take note of this. A strict stand should be taken towards proxy war. The world should be wary of such an attitude. All the gangs that are active have foreign connections. Helping them should be stopped. There should be action against organized crime.

This is how terrorism will be defeated

PM Modi said that only the approach of uniform unified and zero tolerance can defeat terror. The face of terror is also changing in the age of technology, which includes dark net and fake currency. Terror has no boundaries, only zero tolerance approach can counter it. Terrorist can be eliminated at the same time, but concrete strategy ends the root of terrorism. It requires an active response.
