The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has officially commenced the process of appointing a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to manage the administrative and financial affairs of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. This significant development occurs against the backdrop of an ongoing investigation into allegations of donation theft, which has prompted the trust to seek professional leadership, while a high-level search committee held its inaugural meeting in Delhi on Saturday to establish the framework and eligibility criteria for this prestigious position.
Search Committee and Distinguished Members
The search committee tasked with identifying the right candidate for the CEO role comprises eminent personalities from legal, military, and religious management backgrounds. The committee includes Justice Pramod Kohli (Retired), Lieutenant General (Retired) Vishnukant Chaturvedi, and Suresh Haware, the former Chairman of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust. These members brought their collective expertise to the table during the Delhi meeting to ensure that the selection process is rigorous and transparent.
Strict Eligibility and Experience Criteria
The committee has laid down specific qualifications for the aspiring candidates. According to sources, the minimum educational qualification required for the CEO post is a graduation degree. However, the professional requirements are much more stringent, demanding at least 20 years of extensive experience in either administration or finance. Also, the committee has decided that individuals with prior experience in temple management will be given preference during the selection process. A mandatory requirement for the applicant is that they must belong to the Hindu religion, ensuring alignment with the spiritual nature of the institution.
Application Process and Tenure Details
The trust has set a deadline of 18 July for interested candidates to submit their applications. A dedicated email ID is being created specifically for this purpose to facilitate the submission of resumes. Once the applications are received, the search committee will engage in detailed discussions and interviews with the shortlisted candidates, while the initial appointment for the CEO position will be for a period of 3 years. A key condition of the employment is that the selected individual must reside in Ayodhya to oversee the day-to-day operations of the temple. To assist in this comprehensive selection process, the committee has also decided to appoint a secretary. The goal is to complete the entire selection and appointment process within 1 month.
Nripendra Misra on Donation Controversy and Construction
Nripendra Misra, the Chairman of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee, has expressed strong views regarding the recent allegations of donation misappropriation. He described the fraud as a stain on the institution, stating that it has made everyone associated with the temple feel insulted. Misra assured the public that the system would be improved to prevent such incidents in the future and emphasized that anyone found guilty in the investigation would face severe punishment, while regarding the CEO selection, he confirmed that the three-member committee would make the final decision. On top of that, Misra provided an update on the construction, noting that the work on the old temple is nearly complete, while the final phase of construction is expected to be finished by 30 July, with current efforts focused on arranging the flame that will burn continuously for 24 hours.
