Weather Update: The stormy rains in Rajasthan last night wreaked havoc. 15 people died due to the rain that came with the storm and late night lightning in different districts. Due to strong winds blowing at a speed of 96KM per hour in the capital Jaipur, many areas were plunged into darkness. The speed of this storm was more than the Taute storm that came in May 2021. At that time there was a storm in Jaipur with a speed of about 75 KM. Maximum 10 deaths occurred in Tonk district. Here in Dhanna Talai area of the city, the wall of a house collapsed due to rain and storm last night. Grandfather, grandson and granddaughter of the same family died in this accident, while 4 members of the family were injured.

Bharat Bhushan Goyal, assistant director of the Public Service Department, said that one person died due to lightning. Talking about the district, three deaths have taken place in Niwai area, two in Malpura, three in Tonk city, two in Dooni, two in Deoli, one in Uniara and one in Todaraisingh area.

Mustaq Khan (55), a resident of Anwa under Dooni police station area, died due to lightning. Mustaq was sleeping there to guard the farm near his house.

Meanwhile, lightning struck the field and he got scorched. When the relatives reached there after hearing the sound of lightning, they were in dead condition. On receiving the information, the team of the police station area reached home on Friday morning and the body was kept in the mortuary of Dooni Government Hospital.

Coldest night in May in 50 years in Jaipur

If you look at the report of the last 24 hours, in Rajasthan Jaipur, Tonk, Karauli, Dhaulpur, Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Ganganagar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh, Bharatpur, Dausa, Sikar, Nagaur and Alwar in many places from 10 to 70MM It rained Jaipur recorded a minimum temperature of 17.3 degrees Celsius last night due to heavy rains, making it the coldest May night in Jaipur in the last 50 years.

Earlier on May 24 last year, the minimum temperature of Jaipur was recorded at 18.9 degree Celsius. Similarly, Jaipur received 32MM of rain from late last night till 8 am today, which is the second highest rainfall in May in the last 12 years. Apart from Jaipur, the night para in Ajmer, Churu also went below 20 degree Celsius.

Damage due to falling of electric pole, wall and tree

Due to this storm that hit Jaipur late last night, trees, plants, walls, electric poles fell at many places in the city, causing a lot of damage. Flight operations at the airport were also affected for about an hour.

Apart from Jaipur, many districts including Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu received heavy rain and hailstorm yesterday. Due to rain, thunderstorm and hailstorm, the day's maximum temperature in many cities of the state also went below normal by 8 degrees Celsius.

Trees fell at many places in Jaipur after the strong storm that hit Jaipur after around 10 pm. Some cattle deaths have also been reported in Bindayaka area. A car parked near Khole's Hanumanji temple was damaged after a huge tree fell on it.

Mobile tower fell

Due to strong wind, a part of the mobile tower installed on a campus in Rajapark, Jaipur broke down and fell on the road. Similarly, there was a traffic jam for some time due to the falling of a big tree on Delhi Road. Later, the way was opened by removing the tree with the help of a crane.

Monsoon like rain in Jyestha

The change in weather made one feel the coolness of monsoon even in the summer of Jyestha. Several districts including Hanumangarh, Karauli received one to two inches of rain yesterday, which usually does not happen in May-June. The maximum day temperature in Ajmer, Pilani, Jaipur, Alwar, Sikar, Bikaner, Hanumangarh and Karauli reached 35 degree Celsius. Here the normal temperature in May is 42 degree Celsius or above.
