New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor Tunnel and Underpass. After the inauguration, PM started inspecting the tunnel. During this, a strange sight was seen. Actually, while walking, the PM saw a wrapper and a plastic bottle falling on the shore. After this, he himself picked up this waste and gave the message of clean India to the countrymen. Even before this, the PM has been seen many times giving the message of cleanliness and picking up the garbage himself.

The Prime Minister, who is an advocate of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, emphasizes on keeping the surrounding environment clean and also follows it. Earlier in 2019, PM Modi was seen plogging (picking up garbage while jogging) on a beach in Mamallapuram (Mahabalipuram) in Tamil Nadu. He tweeted and wrote, 'Plogging on a beach in Mamallapuram this morning. It lasted for over 30 minutes. He handed over the things he had collected to Jayaraj, one of the hotel staff. Let us make sure that our public places are kept clean! Let us also ensure that we remain fit and healthy.

Plogging began as an organized activity in Sweden around 2016 and later spread to other countries in 2018. The Prime Minister inaugurated Delhi's first 1.6 km long tunnel. With this, people traveling from East Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad to India Gate and other areas of Central Delhi will get relief from the traffic jams at ITO, Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg. It will also save time, fuel and money.

PM said, 'Time is money.' He said that if the government announces Rs 100 for the people, it becomes headlines but if 200 is saved, then there is not much talk about it. Relating to the people, the PM said that it was not easy to build this tunnel. The roads around which this corridor is built are one of the busiest roads of Delhi. At the same time, seven railway lines pass over the tunnel.
