Himachal Pradesh / Big gift to lakhs of employees, notification of 3% DA hike issued, benefits will be available from this date

Himachal Pradesh government has given a big gift to lakhs of employees of the state. The Finance Department of the government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees by three percent from the current rate of 28 to 31 percent. It will be deemed to be applicable from July 1, 2021. All the regular employees of the state government will get its benefit. According to the department, this three percent additional DA will be paid in cash in the salary of February 2022 in March. Whereas from July 1, 2021 to January 31, 2022, tax arrears will be deposited in the GPF account of the employees. Interest on this will be given from March 1, 2022.

At the same time, the employees who have retired in the meantime or who have closed the GPF account or who are covered under the Contributory Pension Scheme, will be given DA arrears from July 1, 2021 to March in February salary. In this regard, orders have been issued by Additional Chief Secretary Finance Prabodh Saxena. Along with this, now the employees will also get 31 percent DA on the lines of the IAS officers of the state. This will benefit about 2.25 lakh employees of the state.

Let us inform, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had announced this on January 25 on Himachal Purna Statehood Day. At the same time, the State General Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Teachers Federation, Dr. Mamraj Pundir has thanked Chief Minister Jai Ram and the State Government for increasing the DA from 28 percent to 31 percent on behalf of the Himachal government. Dr. Mamraj Pundir said that this is the result of the meeting held with the Chief Minister on 23rd January. Today lakhs of employees and pensioners of the state have got this benefit.
