Bangalore. These days the Hindu organization Shri Ram Sena is in a lot of discussion in Karnataka. In this episode, he has announced that his organization is preparing a list of allegedly "illegal" churches and mosques in the southern state. Shri Ram Sena Sangathan chief Pramod Muthalik said that all our workers are preparing a list identifying illegal churches. Some convert homes into churches with just a cross and then use it for religious purposes. As per the estimates of Shri Ram Sena chief Pramod Muthalik, there are more than 500 such churches in the state. According to the report of Hindustan Times, another right-wing organization Narendra Modi Vichar Manch has demanded a survey of mosques in Karnataka. Because they are clear about the fact that there are Hindu monuments in mosques.

The organization says that they found Hindu monuments and sculptures when road work was being carried out in Kalaburagi. All the ancient mosques where prayers are offered were built by demolishing Hindu temples for 400 to 500 years. According to the HT report, the organization had earlier demanded the state government to conduct a survey of Masjid-e-Ala at Srirangapatna in Mandya district. The organization believes that it was a Hanuman temple.

According to HT's report on April 21, Karnataka BJP MLA, Arvind Bellad and MP Renukacharya had demanded a survey of all mosques in the state. At the same time, this new campaign of Hindu organizations has also got support from a section of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership. Former minister and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa said on Tuesday that we have taken Ayodhya, now we will take Kashi and Mathura. Let us inform that KS Eshwarappa had earlier talked about reclaiming all the 36,000 temples that were legally destroyed by the Mughals. KS Eshwarappa said that we have no problem with the newly constructed mosques. But we will not spare the Hindu temples that were built by demolishing them. Now, the Hindu community has the power to regain the temples.

On the matter of preparing the list of churches, the Archbishop of Christianity of Bangalore, Peter Machado, said that the government had not given any such direction and the action of right-wing groups is nothing but "provocation". "We have been saying time and again that it is not their (right-wing groups') job (to conduct such surveys)," he said. The government has not bothered us till now. He said that if the government will issue any such notice, then we will give the details but we are not comfortable in following the instructions of any organization that what we should do.
