Azam Khan: Rampur (MP-MLA) Court on Wednesday sentenced Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan, his wife Tanzeem Fatima and son Abdullah Azam to seven years imprisonment in the fake birth certificate case. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has given a big statement on the punishment given to Azam Khan's family. Akhilesh Yadav said that Azam Khan belongs to another religion. Therefore injustice is happening. There has been a conspiracy and conspiracy against him. He said that Azam Khan is a Muslim, hence he had to face such punishment.

Let us inform that on Wednesday, the court of MP-MLA Magistrate Shobhit Bansal has declared Azam Khan, Tanzeem Fatima and Abdullah Azam guilty in the 2019 case of fake birth certificate. The court has announced a maximum punishment of seven years. Former District Government Advocate (DGC) Arun Prakash Saxena said after the court's decision that the process of taking the three into judicial custody and sending them to jail has started from the court itself.

Let us tell you that on January 3, 2019, BJP MLA Akash Saxena had lodged an FIR at Ganj police station in Rampur. In this, the BJP MLA had alleged that Azam Khan and his wife had obtained two fake date of birth certificates of their son.

In the FIR lodged, Azam Khan and his wife were accused of obtaining one birth certificate from Lucknow and the other from Rampur.

Son was punished in fake date of birth case

According to the allegation, in a birth certificate issued by Rampur Municipality, Abdullah Azam's date of birth is January 1, 1993 and according to another certificate, he was born on September 30, 1990 in Lucknow.

In the 2022 assembly elections, Abdullah Azam had won from Swar constituency on SP ticket, but the Moradabad court had convicted and sentenced Abdullah Azam in 2008.

Abdullah Azam was disqualified from the Uttar Pradesh Assembly two days after his conviction and sentence. After that Abdullah Azam had filed a petition in the High Court to stay the sentence, but that too was rejected.
