Attack on Former Minister's Convoy
Former Rajasthan Minister Govind Ram Meghwal's convoy came under attack on Sunday night around 8 PM on the Jalore Panchayat Samiti Road. Meghwal was returning from a workers' meeting in Jalore when the incident occurred. A group of unknown youths reportedly intercepted his vehicle and began assaulting it.
Details of the Incident
According to reports, as Meghwal was driving back after the meeting, the assailants blocked his car with their vehicle. They first engaged in a scuffle with the driver and then advanced towards Govind Ram Meghwal. As the car windows were closed, they began punching the windows. Meanwhile, Meghwal's accompanying workers, who were following in another vehicle, quickly arrived at the scene, prompting the attackers to flee immediately.
Police Action and Investigation
Following the incident, Govind Ram Meghwal promptly contacted the Superintendent of Police, providing a full account of the events. The police took swift action, pursuing the attackers. It's reported that the police have identified the assailants, and by the time of reporting, one accused, identified as Rajendra, has been apprehended, while meghwal confirmed that no one was injured but emphasized the need to uncover the motive and the masterminds behind the attack.
Chief Minister's Inquiry
Upon learning of the incident, the Chief Minister also telephoned Govind Ram Meghwal to inquire about his well-being and assess the situation. The police are conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the motive behind the assault and to identify any other individuals involved.
