If there is nature then there is progress and today the way natural wealth is being exploited. The result of that is that somewhere there is an earthquake and somewhere there is a calamity like flood. Along with this, such incurable diseases also come, for which it takes years to find a cure. The backdrop of the film 'Bhediya' is the forest of Arunachal Pradesh. Whenever someone tries to harm that forest, such a virus comes that people do not know how to get rid of that virus. The matter is simple, but there may be some difficulty in explaining it by talking because the problem of the film 'Bhediya' is also similar. The film is wonderful at the level of idea but this time director Amar Kaushik does not have his 'Stree' co-stars Raj and DK to bring it to the screen. This time Niren Bhatt's imagination is in full swing and this story of a horror universe seems to be reaching its end like 'Roohi'.

The story of the film 'Bhediya' is of Bhaskar, a resident of Delhi. He works for Bagga (Saurabh Shukla) and reaches Arunachal Pradesh to build a road with his cousin Janardan (Abhishek Banerjee) only on Bagga's insistence. Here he meets Jomin (Pauline Kabak) and Panda (Deepak Dobriyal). Both help Bhaskar. But the tribals of the forest are not ready to leave their land and cut down the trees. No no there is nothing like 'Kantara' here. Bhaskar continues his efforts and one day while returning he is attacked. The matter reaches the veterinary doctor Anika (Kriti Sanon) and the twist in the story that comes from here is the real 'Bhediya'.

In the film 'Bhediya', Bhaskar Poonam's night turns into a wolf in the same way as the hero of Mahesh Bhatt's 1992 film 'Junoon' becomes an animal. This one film sealed the career of Rahul Roy who became a star with 'Aashiqui'. Something similar is not going to happen with Varun Dhawan but the story of 'Bhediya' is quite similar to 'Junoon'. The whole matter is related to saving the forest and land here. Bhaskar believes that everything in life is money and money can buy everything. This thinking of his character does not allow Varun Dhawan to become a hero. And, all the twists of the story are such that neither Himesh Reshammiya's songs can bring pace in the story nor Gulzar's song can make flowers bloom by wearing chaddis.

The weakest link of the film 'Bhediya' is its screenplay. The film is very slow before the interval. Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal kept trying to breathe some life into the story with their efforts. Laughter also comes at his dialogues. After the interval, the story picks up a bit and a new twist comes in the story before the climax. And here the audience is surprised by the artistry of the film's heroine Kriti Sanon. Kriti Sanon has tried her best to save the film 'Bhediya' through this unique character of hers. Her looks and elegance are helpful in making her the number one actress in Hindi cinema, she just needs to choose films better and at least she should not back down on such songs whose lyrics have no meaning.

The problem with Varun Dhawan is that whatever be the film, whatever be the story, whatever be the character, Varun Dhawan seems to be the same. He doesn't have the dedication required for acting and perhaps that's why he wants to leave films of hardworking directors and become the captain of a team where everything he says is blindly accepted. Abhishek Banerjee has left a better impression than him in the film. His presence makes the soul of the film laugh. Deepak Dobriyal has his familiar swag but the real discovery of Bhediya is actor Pauline Kabak. His coming days are good and if he keeps getting the character right then some good actors can be seen in his Hindi cinema. There are other actors in small roles in the film. There is an attempt to make a connection of the film with 'Stree' but there is no Shraddha Kapoor here.

Looking at the work of the technical team, director Amar Kaushik himself has weakened a bit this time. He raised the subject of the film very well. The matter of environment was also put forward but he needed to work a little more on the story. Niren Bhatt has tried to enliven the film with some light-hearted and funny moments but this goat also gets cut in installments. The weakest aspect is the music of the film. Neither Amitabh Bhattacharya's lyrics are effective here nor Sachin Jigar's music. Yes, his hard work is visible in the background score. The hero of the film is its environment i.e. Arunachal Pradesh and Jishnu Bhattacharjee's cinematography has done wonders to show it in the best way and one star film can also be given for its VFX.
