Shaheen-3 Missile: Pakistan, which has recently suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of India during "Operation Sindoor", is once again facing embarrassment in its attempt to increase its military power. On 22 July 2025, Pakistan tested its Shaheen-3 nuclear missile, which failed during testing. The missile fell into the fields near the population in Balochistan province, sparking anger among the local people. They say that if the missile had deviated a little more, it could have caused heavy casualties and property damage.Balochistan strongly condemnedBaloch leader Mir Yar Baloch has strongly condemned the incident. He wrote in his X post, "The repeated failed missile tests by Pakistan not only violate the territorial sovereignty of Balochistan, but also put the lives of local citizens in grave danger." He said that this missile, fired from Dera Ghazi Khan on July 22, fell just 500 meters from the Loop Sehrani Levy Station in the valley of Grapan. This incident created panic among the local people, as a minor mistake could have led to a horrific accident.Balochistan is being made a military testing areaMir Yar Baloch alleged that Pakistan has turned Balochistan into a military testing area. In the last few years, tests of ballistic missiles and other deadly weapons have increased here with foreign cooperation. In October 2023 also, a missile fired from Punjab fell on the cultivable lands of Dera Bugti, threatening the lives of the local people. Apart from this, the side effects of the six nuclear tests conducted in Chagai district on May 28, 1998 are still being faced by the local population in the form of cancer, skin diseases and other serious diseases.Forced displacement of Baloch citizensThe Baloch leader also revealed that the Pakistani army is forcibly evicting Baloch citizens from their homes under the guise of missile tests. Incidents of state-sponsored displacement are being reported in Dera Bugti, Kahan and surrounding areas. Locals said that they are being threatened and intimidation tactics are being adopted, so that the way can be cleared for the plunder of resources.Balochistan appeals to the international communityMir Yar Baloch has demanded the United Nations, Security Council and international human rights organizations to impose strict sanctions on Pakistan's missile and nuclear programs. He has demanded an impartial investigation into the violation of the security and sovereignty of citizens in Balochistan. Also, he has appealed to monitor the Baloch displacement taking place due to fear of missile tests and air strikes. The Baloch leader said, "The Baloch nation appeals to the international community for intervention for justice and peace."This failure of Pakistan has not only raised questions about its military capability but also exposed the growing discontent in Balochistan. The eyes of the international community are now fixed on the issue whether Pakistan will control its military ambitions or continue to violate human rights and promote instability in Balochistan.
