Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot may contest the election of Congress President. There are reports that he is going to file nominations early. However, before this, Gehlot is once again trying to persuade former party president Rahul Gandhi. At the same time, he has prepared a plan to show strength in Delhi as well.

At present, the situation regarding the candidature of Rahul Gandhi, who is campaigning for India Jodo Yatra in Kochi, is not clear. Whereas, Gehlot has openly indicated that if Rahul does not contest the elections, then he has made up his mind to claim the post of president. In the meeting of MLAs held on Tuesday evening, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan discussed his plan.

Attempts to convince Rahul 'one last time'

On Wednesday, Gehlot may come to Delhi to meet the interim president of the party, Sonia Gandhi. Along with this, he has also planned to go to Kerala to convince Rahul. They say that if Rahul does not change his decision, he will do whatever the party says.

Along with this, Gehlot has also called his MLAs to Delhi. On Tuesday, he told the MLAs that if he files his nomination papers, he will be called to Delhi. A state cabinet minister informed, "The chief minister will first go to Kochi and appeal to Rahul Gandhi to contest the elections."

According to the language, Food Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas told reporters after the meeting, "In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that if he files nomination for the post of National President of the party, then a message will come to the MLAs to reach New Delhi." He said that in the meeting, discussions were held regarding the preparations for the current session of the Legislative Assembly and the budget.

Is Sachin giving hints to Pilot?

It is reported that during the meeting with the MLAs, Gehlot has assured that he is 'not going anywhere'. There was speculation that if he moves to Delhi, former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot may take over as the CM. He has told the MLAs that he will continue to serve the state wherever he goes and will not leave the CM post. The pilots have also reached Kochi to join the India Jodo Yatra.
