Chiranjeevi Yojana: Now people will be able to get free treatment up to Rs 50 lakh under the Chiranjeevi Yojana of Rajasthan government, Congress announced this in its manifesto released for Rajasthan elections on Tuesday. After this, Rahul Gandhi wrote in one of his posts on the social media platform that now poor and middle class people will neither have to sell their houses nor take loans for treatment.

Rajasthan government has started Chiranjeevi Yojana to provide free health facilities to the people, till now free treatment up to Rs 25 lakh was available. Now it has been increased to Rs 50 lakh. After the release of the Congress manifesto on Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi made a post regarding this on social media platform X and said that he had asked Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot to do so.

The scheme was started in 2021

Rajasthan government had started Chiranjeevi Health Protection Insurance Scheme to provide welfare and free medical treatment to the poor in the state. This is the health policy of the state government. At the time of announcement of the scheme, the limit of free treatment was Rs 5 lakh, which was later increased to Rs 25 lakh. Now the government has announced in the manifesto to increase this amount to Rs 50 lakh. The special thing is that under this policy, OPD is completely free in all the government hospitals of Rajasthan. However, this policy has to be renewed every year. Under the scheme, treatment of serious diseases like black fungus, heart surgery, transplant can also be done.

To avail the benefits of the scheme, online applications are made at https://chiranjeevi.rajasthan.gov.in/, however, Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar registration is mandatory for this. However, only that person can avail the benefit of the scheme whose annual income is less than Rs 8 lakh. The state government pays the premium for these families.
