The victim's family is from Madhya Pradesh

Police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and Scheduled Castes and Tribes Act. The victim is from a Dalit family. According to the police, the accused already knew the victim and her family. They lived on rent in the same building in Dadwara area. He is originally from Madhya Pradesh. The station in-charge said that the victim girl was medically examined on Monday and her statement was recorded. Police will present Mithun in a court on Tuesday itself.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon when the minor had gone out of the house to collect some items. Accused Mithun called her on a bluff and raped her by taking her to a construction site in an auto. Mithun also threatened to kill the minor if he disclosed this. Its investigating officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police Bhagwat Singh Hingad said that a charge sheet would be filed against the accused soon after conducting a speedy inquiry into the matter.
