Baswraj Bommai Yeddyurappa, who started political career from Janata Dal (Janta Dal), has been a home minister in the Government and he is also considered very close.

Basavaraj S Bommai (Basavaraj's Bommai) come from the Lingayat community. He was born on January 28, 1960. He is considered close to former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and he used to be from the 'Janata Family'. His father SR Bommai has also worked as Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Baswaraj joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bombay 2008 and then went up in the party continuously. He is the first state government in the state government. He started his political career with the Janata Dal.

Bommai is a mechanical engineer from the profession and he started his career from Tata Group. He is twice MLC and three times a legislator. He was elected in 1998 and 2004 as a member of Karnataka Legal Pradesh from Dharwad Local Authority constituency. Bombai has worked with senior leaders, including HD Devgouda and Ramkrishna Hegde before joining BJP.

After leaving the Janata Dal (United), Bommai joined BJP in February 2008. In the elections in 2008, he was elected to Karnataka Assembly from Shiggaon constituency of Haveri district.

Before the announcement of the name for the Chief Minister, Bommai told INDIA TODAY TV that we will know about the new Chief Minister after the meeting of the legislature. He said that handling Kovid-19 position will be a challenge for the next Chief Minister. We need to fight it.

Only three chief ministers of Karnataka becoming chief minister could complete his tenure. Activist Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa took the position for a total of 1,901 days through four different tenures. However, on 9 occasions in the state, the Chief Minister could not even complete his tenure.

Union minister Pradhad Joshi, BJP's national general secretary CT Ravi, B.L. Santosh and State Assembly of BJP were involved in Yeddyurappa.
