ICC has announced the names of the players to be nominated for Player of the Month for the month of September. The special thing is that out of three players in the men's category, 2 are Indians. Both these players are currently playing in the World Cup and last month they played the biggest role in India winning the Asia Cup.

This time the players nominated for Player of the Month are David Malan, Shubman Gill and Mohammad Siraj. Mohammad Siraj became number 1 in the ODI rankings at the end of September and was the hero of India's victory in the final of the Asia Cup. At the same time, Shubman Gill was the highest run-scorer in the Asia Cup. He is now eyeing his second Player of the Month award. At the same time, David Malan has been nominated for this award for the first time after his brilliant performance in the series against New Zealand.

Shubman Gill, 24, scored 480 runs at an average of 80 in his eight ODIs during this month, including a century against Bangladesh in Colombo and scores of 74 and 104 in back-to-back games against Australia.
